Slim pickings from driver walkout

THE BUS BLUES that affected the north of the island because of industrial action by Transport Board drivers yesterday did not apparently translate into better business for PSVs.

In the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal, the facility was mostly empty during what was normally the rush hour after 5 p.m. with the usual long lines not there. Some buses were leaving the terminal at the time.

One commuter who did not give her name said even if the buses were on strike she still had to wait long, and yesterday was no different. 

Jacqueline Clarke, who was also waiting with her, said she made sure she got out of work early because she heard the last bus was leaving the terminal at 9 p.m. (LK)
