Border agencies ‘can pool resources’ to fight drugs, guns

BORDER AGENCIES across the region can fight illegal shipment of drugs and guns by pooling resources, says Acting Commissioner of Police Oral Williams.

He was speaking to participants yesterday at the closing ceremony of the Maritime Operations and Planning Course.

The project, funded by the European Union and the Regional Security System (RSS), carried a fitting theme of Strength Through Unity and was focused on strengthening law enforcement and border security in the RSS member states.

Participants came from the Barbados Defence Force and Coast Guard, Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, Royal Grenada Police Force, St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, Royal St Lucia Police Force and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard. (TKS)
