THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH’S efforts to control the spread of dengue and other mosquito borne diseases continues next week when a number of districts across Barbados will be fogged.
On Monday, the following districts in St Michael, St Philip and Christ Church will be targeted: Kensington New Road, Fontabelle, Farnum Land, Chapman Lane with Avenues, Emmerton Lane, Mason Hall Street, Reed Street.Â
In St Philip and Christ Church, the team will fog: Woodbourne, Woodbourne Park with Avenues, Berlin Road, Bright Hill, St Patricks and surrounding areas.
The following day, Tuesday, the Vector Control Unit will visit St Michael and St Peter, where they will spray Belleview Road, Station Hill, Godding Road, Glendairy Gap, Deane’s Village with Avenues and neighbouring districts.Â
In St Peter, the unit will spray Road View, Cemetery Lane, Sweet Home Road, Mullins, Mullins Terrace, Patricia Gardens, Parry Garden, Gibbs, Gibbs Glade with Avenues and the environs.
On Wednesday, the team will be in St James and will conduct fogging operations in: Trents, Trents Tenantry, Greenwich, Greenwich Village, Jamestown Park, Folkstone Marine Park, Queens Fort, Glitter Bay Terrace, Porters and neighbouring districts.
The team returns to St Michael on Thursday, where Beckles Road, Jessamine Avenue, Gully Field, Piper’s Avenue, Curwen Avenue, Clarke’s Avenue, Bay Street, Chelsea Road. Dunlow Lane, Collymore Rock, Jemmotts Lane, St. Paul’s Avenue, Evelyn Avenue, Grant’s Avenue, Bay Gardens, Culloden Road and the environs will be sprayed.
On Friday, fogging operations will continue in the following St Michael districts: Black Rock, Washington Avenue, Kellman Land, Browne’s Gap, Eckstein Village, Tudor Bridge, Seales Avenue, Parkinson Road, Fairfield, Scotts Terrace, Grazettes, Wavell, Fairfield Cross Road, Nightengale Gardens, Seclusion Road and surrounding areas.
The fogging operations run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day, and residents are reminded to open their doors and windows to allow the fog to penetrate.
Parents are reminded that children should not be allowed to play in the fog or run behind the fogging machine. (BGIS)
