Five injured in highway accident

A FOUR-VEHICLE ACCIDENT on the Kingsland stretch of the ABC Highway has left five people, including a ten-month-old child, nursing injuries.

Two fire tenders and 11 firemen, under the command of Deputy Divisional Officer Mayers were called in to help the accident victims around 8 a.m.

They responded to the accident on the Adams Section of the highway, which involved two cars and two vans.

Driver Tenroyson Crichlow, 65, of Fairview Hill, Christ Church, and his two passengers walked away from their van without injuries, as did van driver Noel Beckles, 53, of Martindale Road, St Michael.

However, driver of one of the cars, Tito Bascombe, 35, of Lower Burney, Mapp Hill complained of back pain, while his passenger complained of back and neck pain.

Driver of the second car, Ornan Singh, 35, of Coverley Land, Christ Church, suffered an injury to his right hand and his head, while his wife complained of pain to the back and stomach. Their ten-month-old child had cuts to the finger.

They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. (HLE)
