No team for qualifiers

THE ABSENCE OF quality players and financial constraints prevented the Barbados Football Association (BFA), from sending a team to the CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 qualifiers in Bermuda.

Only hosts Bermuda, Jamaica and Curacao contested the qualifiers, which wind down today.

BFA general secretary Edwyn Wood explained that though tournaments came up it was important to be selective in the ones in which they competed since it came with a cost.

“The thing is, too, your hear about tournaments in different categories, but if you try to enter all you may find yourself very broke,” he told SUNSPORT(RG)
