THE BARBADOS WORKERS’ UNION (BWU) says it was rebuffed by the Transport Board when it sought information about a bus rehabilitation project being undertaken by a Trinidadian consultant.

David Bartholomew was hired by the Transport Board as a fleet consultant to get 200 defective buses back on the road.

BWU general secretary Toni Moore told the SUNDAY SUN that the union was snubbed by the board when it asked about the project.

“The Transport Board wrote to the BWU in March last year proposing a special bus maintenance project where the fleet on the road would have been enhanced because there was concern that there were too many defective buses,” she said. (MB)
