UWI-linked unions ‘mum on protest’

THERE ARE CERTAIN organisations which have been mysteriously quiet as four of the island’s major trade unions and the private sector association geared up for today’s march.

This is the view of political scientist and retired dean of the UWI Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr George Belle.

He told the DAILY NATION he had expected unions and associations linked to the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies to have come out and state their position on the march.

“My career at the University of the West Indies stretches over 35 years,” Belle said. (HLE)
