THIS YEAR’S Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) Independence Invitational Games promise to be a whole lot bigger.

This was communicated by chairman of organising committee Trevor Browne during a press conference at the Barbados Olympic Association yesterday.

“When compared to our inaugural Independence games, everything this year will be bigger. Twenty different sports events participated in last year’s games, and all indications are that we will exceed twenty-five sports this year and will generally see an even bigger scale of events being promoted,” he said.

The sports added to the mix include chess, cycling, equestrian, tennis and triathlon. (RG)
