A NUMBER OF people who participated in Monday’s  march against Government did so under duress.

Minister of Housing and Lands, Denis Kellman made the claim yesterday as he spoke about the demonstration jointly led by the island’s four major trade unions and the Barbados Private Sector Association.

“Don’t forget these days people have to protect their jobs, and protect their pay. There were a lot of persons in there who were not happy about marching . . . ,” he said.

In response to comments that the numbers were a signal to the DLP going into the next elections next year, Kellman said the only way he would take that into consideration was if they were not workers in there. (LK)
