PROSPECTIVE HOMEOWNERS who want to buy houses from the National Housing Corporation (NHC) can get them through a rent-to-buy system.

Minister of Housing and Lands Denis Kellman said all those who qualify to buy houses under that system can do so once the NHC has a house for sale.

“If you are not ready because of the legal process you can come to the NHC and say, ‘while I am in the process I want to rent my house’,” he said on Friday in delivering the Astor B. Watts Lecture at the Democratic Labour Party’s George Street Headquarters.

Kellman noted that the NHC had been accused of not selling the houses as fast as they should. He said the agency had experienced some hiccups so it had to find a way to get the people in the houses faster. (LK)
