STAYING HOME sets hurdles for young sports persons.
That was the view of American-based Olympic boxing coach Floyd Seymour during an interview with WEEKENDSPORT yesterday.
“It’s hard to live in your country and face the world,” he said.
“An athlete would say he has to compete against the world but he doesn’t know what’s there. Caribbean athletes need to get out into America, go to Canada, to England or to Africa in a training camp. They would see what’s in the world so when it comes to competition they can compete”. (RG)
