NSC FIRES BACK

THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS have now hit high gear.

Not the competition, but the conflict.

The National Sports Council (NSC) has fired back again, reiterating that the Athletic Association of Barbados (AAB) did request “additional” World Championships’ funding too late, as the $70 000 the NSC disbursed was meant to assist “with their entire annual programme”.

NSC interim chief executive officer Jerry Blenman responded in a statement to WEEKENDSPORT after AAB vice president Noel Lynch said his body was only following up on a request made in January. (JM)
