FORMER WEST INDIES COACH Ottis Gibson has been linked with a move to take over as the next South Africa coach.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), however, says it is yet to receive an approach from Cricket South Africa (CSA) regarding the services of Gibson, England’s current bowling coach.

Current South Africa coach Russell Domingo, who has reapplied for the role, is out of contract at the end of the England tour and the Daily Mail first reported that CSA had been in discussion with Gibson to take over.

But an ECB spokesperson said they had had no communication from their South African counterparts and would not entertain any approach until Tuesday at the earliest, when the ongoing series had concluded. (ESPNcricinfo)
