Farmers, CARDI work on plan

FARMERS AND representatives of farmers’ associations met last week to brainstorm on how to improve the agricultural sector through research.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture’s Livestock Department, The Pine Boulevard, St Michael, and also involved members of the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI).

The aim of the meeting was to discuss CARDI’s five-year strategic plan of improving the state of agronomy in Barbados and the region.

Members of the agricultural community shared ideas about how best to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of regional agriculture.  (SB)
