Updated: Dr Frank Marshall passes on

REPORTS ARE THAT former Dean of the Cathedral of St Michael and All Angels Dr Frank Marshall has died.

Marshall had officiated as Dean at the Cathedral for 11 years and was in the service since he entered Codrington College in 1965.

He was 71 years old.

Current Dean Dr Jeffrey D. Gibson revealed that Marshall died at his Oxnards, St James home surrounded by his wife Beverley, son Paul, daughter Claire and other family members.

Marshall served the Diocese of Barbados in several capacities with distinction in his over 48 years as an ordained servant of Christ. He was ordained Deacon on the Feast of St James, July 25, 1969 and one year later ordained to the priesthood.

He was appointed Assistant Curate of St Peter’s Parish Church, and later to a similar capacity at Christ Church Parish Church. He also served as Rector of the Church of St Matthew & The Resurrection, 1972 to 1974; the Church of St Stephen, 1974 to 1995; and the Church of St Mary, 1995 to 2004.

He was instituted as Rector of St Michael and installed as the eleventh Dean of The Cathedral Church of St Michael and All Angels in 2005 and served in that capacity until his retirement on November 30, 2015. (BARBADOS NATION)
