Grant: Invest more in sport

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER of the Pinelands Creative Workshop, Rodney Grant, is calling for a greater investment in sport across Barbados.

“There are some things we can’t stop, but there are a lot of things we can prevent by doing the right thing,” he said during a press conference for the Caribbean Children Charity Shield Soccer Classic at the Pinelands Creative Workshop on Wednesday.

“Sometimes we look upon ordinary people, and we undervalue their value. We question their ability to contribute to important development paradigms. Only last week the Hamilton Lashley Foundation concluded a cricket tournament in Meadow Road. In speaking with Hammie, I recognised the Foundation produced many national youth cricketers. (RA)
