45 scholarship and exhibition winners

ON RECEIVING THIS year’s list of Barbados scholars and exhibition winners, Chief Education Officer Karen Best said she felt like she had just won the lotto.

For 45 young Barbadians, the feeling had to be mutual.

Twenty-six teenagers have been awarded scholarships and 19 exhibitions in this year’s Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) and Associate Degree programme of the Barbados Community College (BCC).

This was revealed yesterday by an ecstatic Minister of Education Ronald Jones, during a ceremony to announce the winners at the Erdiston Teachers’ Training College. (RB)
