Dismay over SBA results

WHILE STUDENTS ACROSS the island revelled in their Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) results, some Combermere School students were left bewildered and in tears.

That’s because the school-based assessments (SBAs) of students from the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) management of business class and a CXC Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) geography class have not been graded.

Several of the unhappy students told the MIDWEEK NATION they were disappointed to realise their hard work had gone to nought.

“I know there was a problem regarding the teachers and the running of the school, but I didn’t think it would affect our results; only to realise Friday when I went to check them, I had gotten an ungraded and all of my friends in the class had gotten an ungraded too,” one student reported. (AD)
