Social Partnership to hear report on gangs, gun violence

THE SOCIAL PARTNERSHIP will soon be getting an idea of just how serious gang violence and gun-related crime is in Barbados.

Officials from the Attorney General’s Office are expected to make a presentation at the next subcommittee meeting of the Social Partnership next month.

The presentation was to have been done last Friday but was postponed due to the unavailability of Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite.

That meeting was still a valuable one for the Social Partnership, as a special presentation on disaster management and preparedness was conducted by the Department of Emergency Management (DEM). (BA)
