TORONTO – Riding star Patrick Husbands produced a stirring stretch run aboard 5-1 chance Enstone to win the Grade 3 $125 000 Ontario Colleen Stakes in style at Woodbine here Sunday.

The seven-time champion at the western Canada racetrack stalked with the bay filly before slipping through a seam along the rails and storming to the wire 1-1/4 lengths clear in a time of one minute, 34.28 seconds.

“Every time she comes out, she gives you 110 [per cent]. I was always telling myself one of these days I could get [Enstone] to sit behind horses and get speed to run at and today was the day,” Husbands said.

“Today, I had a nice pace in front of me and she did what she does in the morning running them down, and when I asked her, she just took off.” (CMC)
