BARBADIANS HAD EVERY reason to celebrate big time yesterday.
Two of their own – Shai Hope and Kraigg Brathwaite – combined to help West Indies pull off a remarkable victory over England in the second Test at Headingley in Leeds.
Hope’s unbeaten 118, his second century of the match, and Brathwaite’s 95 helped the Caribbean side achieve a challenging target of 322.
The five-wicket win came 12 hours after top Barbadian tennis player Darian King warmed the hearts of many with a gutsy performance against world No. 4 Alexander Zverev on his debut appearance in the main draw of the US Open. (BARBADOS NATION)
