MEMBERS OF THE Drug Squad have arrested and charged a Canadian visitor with a number of drug related offences.
She is 39-year-old Paula Michelle Small who arrived in Barbados by air on August 30.
Police say she cleared immigration and a subsequent search by Customs officers allegedly revealed 23 transparent vacuum-sealed packages all containing cannabis. They were said to concealed in a false bottom within her suitcases.
Police were informed and Smith was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, trafficking in cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and importation of cannabis.
The drugs weighed 20.2 pounds and carried an estimated street value of $80 000. (PR/NB)
