Although some Barbadians are complaining about high prices of school supplies that may have resulted from the National Social Responsibility Levy (NSRL), at least two visitors from neighbouring islands said they still find they can stretch their dollar.
Each year as the end of the summer vacation draws nigh, parents flock to The City to get last-minute school supplies for their children.
With just over one week before the new school year starts, this year proved to be no different.
The Saturday Sun spoke to parents about their spending power and one shopper from St Lucia and another from St Vincent and the Grenadines indicated that while locals were complaining about the price of school supplies it was more affordable for them. (SB)
