BARBADOS IS FACING an uphill battle in the race for the country title in the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC).

With a hometown advantage at Bushy Park, Barbados was the leading scorer last weekend as drivers settled the Williams Industries International Race Meet.

In round three of the championship, Barbados moved from third to second with 475 points, thanks to the efforts of  drivers such as Mark Maloney and Mark Thompson, now the leaders of the Group 4 (2-wheel drive) and Group 2 standings for 2017 drivers respectively.

The Mayers brothers also played a major role. Roger set a new lap record of 59.530 seconds for four-wheel drive competitors and Barry took top honours for the two-wheel drive category. (TT)
