BARBADIANS KAREN MEAKINS and Meagan Best bowed out at the quarter-final stage in the women’s singles at the Senior Pan American Squash Championships in Argentina.

Meakins made a great showing in her match against Laura Tovar of Colombia, who played the game of her life.

The final score was no reflection of the high level of play produced by both players. Unfortunately, Meakins succumbed to Tovar 3-11, 5-11, 3-11 in straight games.

Fifteen-year-old Best also played a strong game, but also lost to the No. 3/4 Diana Garcia of Mexico 5-11, 9-11, 11-8, 4-11. (PR/EZS)
