A 28-year-old man has been charged with one of the recent murders and a string of other violence charges.

Damien Rommel Springer, an unemployed St Judes, St George man is accused of murdering Shawn Omar Taylor, 37, of Lodge Road, Christ Church on August 21 at Gall Hill, Christ Church.

Taylor was fatally shot the night after his friend Orwin Moore was gunned down at Cane Vale Crescent, in the same parish while visiting a friend in the district.

Moore, 40, resided at Water Street or Kendal Hill, Christ Church.

In addition to Springer’s murder charge, he is also accused of causing serious bodily harm to another man on that same day; two counts of endangering the lives of two other people in the Gall Hill area and the illegal use of a gun all on the same date.

Springer, who is expected in court tomorrow, is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and 12 bullets on September 1.

He is also now facing an aggravated burglary charge stemming from an alleged incident in April last year. He is charged with entering the premises of Divi Southwinds with a firearm. (AC)
