BARBADOS MADE GREAT strides in the women’s team competition at the Senior Pan American Squash Championships in Argentina with wins against Guatemala and Chile on Wednesday.
The Barbadian ladies defeated the short-handed Guatemala 3-0 with Meagan Best and Karen Meakins pulling off victories on court. Amanda Haywood won by default as Guatemala only had two female players.
First on court for Barbados in the No.1 position was Best, who easily defeated Winifer Bonilla in straight games 11-5, 11-1, 11-8.
Then No. 2 Meakins wrapped up the tie with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Maria Rimola 11-4, 11-1, 11-3. (EZS/PR)
