3S US$17m suit still pending

THE COMPANY, WHOSE contract to build flyovers on the ABC Highway was abruptly terminated, is still seeking a multimillion-dollar settlement.

Construction firm 3S Structural Steel Solutions has a lawsuit pending for US$17 million.

The company was supposed to build eight flyovers at a cost of $120 million.

However, before the project could get under way, a new Government was installed and late Prime Minister and Minister of Finance David Thompson, in his first Budget speech, fired 3S from continuing work on the expansion of the highway and announced that there would be no flyovers. (MB)
