YOU COULDN’T HAVE asked for a more dramatic end to the 2017 Caribbean Premier League.

Trinbago Knight Riders clinched their second title amid tension and excitement with a three-wicket win against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the new Brian Lara Cricket Academy yesterday morning.

In a gripping contest played out before more than 10 000 fans, the Knight Riders sealed the deal just after 1 a.m. thanks to the heroics of big-hitting Kevon Cooper, whose vital unbeaten 29 off 14 balls at crunch time helped the hosts overhaul a target of 136 with one over remaining.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots looked on course to lift the title for the first time when they reduced Trinbago Knight Riders to 90 for seven after 14.2 overs. (HG)
