A NUMBER OF PEOPLE living in St Lucy are pleading with the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to do something about the discoloured water coming from their taps.

Villagers from the areas of Glendalough, Rock Hall, Mount View and Josey Hill told the DAILY NATION that their water looked as if it was affected by clay or rust. Their complaints were being made against a background of many calls from them to the BWA to have the mains changed or flushed.

Yvonne Babb, of Rock Hall, said the problem had been going on for months and the situation had not improved even after speaking to a BWA representative and sending pictures.

“So they know that it is not fit for us to use,” she said. (RL/LK)
