SIX FORMER champions will have the opportunity, along with six other teams, to capture the grand prize of $25 000 in next year’s Barbados Football Association’s Premier League competition.

In a revamped two-zone format, defending champions Weymouth Wales will face Paradise, Notre Dame, Brittons Hill, Silver Sands and the “Mighty Blues” Empire in Zone 1.

The Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme will be joined by Rendezvous, Ellerton, UWI Blackbirds, Waterford Compton and Porey Spring in Zone 2 where they will vie for the top spot.

The 2018 season, which kicks off on January 7, will see teams increased to 12 in the new format, and three teams will be demoted to Division One at the end of the season. (RA)
