FOR THOSE WHO have pledged, make good on that promise. That was the plea following yesterday’s outpouring of generosity by Barbadians as they gave to help some of the Caribbean victims of  Hurricane Irma.

By the time the We Care: One People, One Caribbean Radiothon was finished just after 2 p.m., over $130 000 had been raised in cash and pledges.

From around 9 a.m., phone lines at the Starcom Network stations were ringing as callers pledged whatever cash they could spare to bolster monetary donations which were collected by We Care volunteers who made their way through Bridgetown.

Well-wishers were also able to contribute via online Fund Me appeals as well as fundraising tins which were placed at several locations across the island. (AD)
