BE AS COMMITTED to God as a gangster is to a gang.

That is the charge from new Divisional Leader of the Salvation Army Darrel Wilkinson as he and his wife Major Joan were installed in their posts at a service at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Sunday by territorial leaders Mark and Sharon Tillsley.

“I don’t know how many gangs you have in Barbados, and the thing is being a gang member is a serious thing. Coming out is not an option. So long as you’re in, you’re in. And if you try to get out, then you will get out, but not to say anything more. You will be taken out completely. So it’s irrevocable for you.

“I want to say for you and I it must be a similar attitude for you and I who belong to God. It is irrevocable, that commitment. And if it is, we will accomplish so much for God,” Wilkinson told the congregation. (YB)
