BARBADIAN ZANE MALONEY will be looking to make history when he faces the starter in the CIK-FIA World OK & OK Junior Championships at the PF International Circuit, Lincolnshire in England this weekend.

Maloney, 13, a student at The St Michael School, will become the first Barbadian to compete at these championships.

Today is qualifying for Maloney, who is attached to Ricky Flynn Motorsport (RFM), and more than 100 competitors from around the world who are entered for the championship.

“If he makes it to the podium that would be great, but a place in the top five would also be comforting as this is the beginning of his quest to get among the world’s top kart drivers”, said his assistant crew chief and father Sean Maloney to SATURDAY SPORTS. (TT)
