Today a St Philip family is in mourning after the decomposed body of one of their own, 66-year-old Fergusson Barton, was discovered at his Lucas Street home.

According to police, around 6:30 a.m. on Monday two of his brothers, Anderson Barton and Steve Lucas, paid him a visit after not seeing him since last Friday.

The father of five had retired late last year from the National Conservation Commission, where, according to a relative, he had worked for more than 40 years.

A shocked Anderson said yesterday that several of his close relatives were taking the death hard and he, too, was still trying to come to grips with it. (TG)
