TORONTO – Ace Barbadian jockey Patrick Husbands took aim at 100 wins for the 19th time at Woodbine when he posted a double on Sunday’s 10-race card at the celebrated Canadian racetrack.

The veteran rider captured race nine with 2-1 chance First Premio before returning in race 10 to take victory with favourite Salieri, and make some of the headlines on the programme.

With the success, Husbands moved to 91 wins for the season, continuing in fourth spot in the standings behind two-time defending champion Eurico Rosa da Silva who leads with 136.

Since 1998, Husbands has only failed to crack the 100 wins once – in 2013 when he ended on 89 after missing 3-1/2 months of the campaign with a broken leg. (CMC)
