High hopes

Barbados are really liking their chances at home.

Coach Mike Sims has high hopes for the hosts at this weekend’s CARIFTA Triathlon Championships although many officials still don’t know what to expect from the inaugural meet.

Sims expressed the sentiment ahead of Saturday’s start to the first ever regional age-group event at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

“I don’t want to put any pressure on them, but I think we’re going to be surprised,” said Sims during yesterday’s press launch at the Barbados Olympic Association’s headquarters. (JM)
