Cyclist dies after accident

Police are investigating a road fatality, which occurred sometime around 11:20 p.m., last night, along Oistins Road, Christ Church, at its junction with Pegwell Road.

Involved were a truck and a cyclist, which resulted in the death of a 61-year-old man, whose address and next-to-kin are is still to be ascertained.

The truck was driven by Mathew Headley, 28, of Pegwell, Christ Church. The cyclist sustained head injuries, and was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries. (PR)
