All is set for a smooth start to the annual Barbados Draughts Association’s Team Tournament at Top Grade Academy, Bush Hall, tomorrow despite the non-participation of the two Lodge Road teams.
Following the opening ceremony at 6 p.m., there will be three matches among this year’s six participating teams.
Last year’s champions, St Martin’s, will once again be led by Richard Grazettes while the team to watch will be St George, which is captained by Junior Waldron and includes Barbados’ No. 2 player, Jack Francis.
The other teams are the Bush Hall-based Invaders, skippered by Carson Farley; Mayers Road Tigers, led by Michael Cheeseman; Mayers Road Lions and the returning Proper Pushers, captained by new president, Dennis Doughlin. (EZS)
