Former Formula 1 champion Jenson Button was one of the stars of the Barbados Festival of Speed at Bushy Park last Saturday.

Button, the 2 009 Formula 1 race king, won his matchup against a Twister Aerobatic SA1100 aircraft.

He and former Caterham champion Will Stevens set the tone for a day of motorsport tinged with demonstrations by Stevens and Oliver Webb before Button went head-to-head with Peter Wells and a Twister Aerobatic SA1100 aircraft.

After three passes, with Button on the track at the wheel of a Radical SR3 and Wells overhead in an Aerobatic SA1100 aircraft, Button got the nod of the judges after some skilful handling with much applause from the large crowd gathered for the eight-hour affair. (TT)
