‘Elizabeth’ keep swim title

ASHLEY WEEKES’ EXPERIENCE in the pool safeguarded Elizabeth’s (Purple) title at St Michael’s Inter-House Swim Championships yesterday.

Weekes’ speedy strokes together with sister Serena Weekes and Israel Bryan led Elizabeth to retaining their title at the Aquatic Centre.

Elizabeth amassed 455 points while Anne (Yellow) had to settle for second place after finishing 127 points behind tallying 328 points.

Victoria (Red) was third with 324 points and Boadicea (Blue) fourth with 307.

Spearheaded victory

CARIFTA medallist Weekes spearheaded the victory while capturing the victrix ludorum title with 54 points in the 13-14 category winning all six individual events.

She won the 50 metres free style, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke as well as the 100 metres free style and individual medley.

Competing in the Under-12 category, the younger Weekes followed with winning performances in the 50 metres butterfly and freestyle as well as the 100 metres butterfly and freestyle to contribute to the victory with 43 points.

She also took the silver medal in the 50 metres breaststroke. (RG)
