‘Positive’ winter season ahead

Barbados is open for business. That is the message being sent to people in the United States market, in particular, in the lead up to the 2018 winter season and beyond.

Director of the US for the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., Petra Roach, said even though Barbados has not been directly hit, the island had a “tough period” in the wake of the hurricanes, which have passed through the Caribbean.

“What we’ve done is we’ve spent a lot of time talking to the media, both from the travel trade as well as the mainstream media, explaining the geography of Barbados, explaining that Barbados is open for business,” she said.

Roach said projections for the winter season, look “quite positive”. (YB)
