Warrens wallop City

Mission accomplished! Pan American International Insurance Warrens predictably got their league crown by easily sweeping aside City United Celtics 89-66 in Saturday’s Game 2 of the First Division basketball finals at the Wildey Gymnasium.

It more than justified their billing as pre-season favourites after the reigning knockout kings led for all but the opening possession of a lopsided contest that they were up by as many as 29 points.

The performance was simply indicative of their entire year, putting the fitting cap on a similarly dominant season where Warrens lost just one of their 19 games enroute to a double crown.

More importantly, the result ensured Warrens maintained a presence in the top flight as it stopped their demotion-bound Premier League squad from being relegated next season. (JM)
