When Shay Durham saw two people in danger out to sea near Bougainvillea Beach Resort, Maxwell Coast Road, Christ Church, he wasted no time springing into action.

Durham, 25, a security officer at the resort, was on his regular patrol when he suddenly found himself called upon to play a different role.

“I was on patrol walking around Conchita Point when I looked out and saw two female tourists out in the water on a boogie board. At first, they didn’t look like they were in trouble but I knew that area was dangerous,” he said.

Durham said the pair were drifting to where rocks were along the wall of the resort to prevent the sea eroding it. He said the waves were pushing them closer and closer and when he heard their frightened shouts, he had to act. (CA)
