The National Union of Public Workers has hinted at the possibility of the industrial action in the Public Service.
In a statement issued this evening, the union said it had not yet received correspondence from the Ministry of the Civil Service regarding salaries and wages talks.
Below is the full text of the release.
The General Secretary of the National Union of Public Workers [Roslyn Smith] says that failure by Government to respond to the Union’s correspondence of October 17 and October 25, 2017 requesting a date for a meeting to restart salaries/wages talks could result in disruption throughout the Public Service.
The Ministry of the Civil Service had been given until October 31, 2017 to respond to the Union’s request.
To date, no response has been received from the Ministry of the Civil Service.
The Union’s National Council at its meeting of October 17, 2017 has directed that if the Ministry of the Civil Service fails to respond for its call for a meeting the union will take the necessary action to bring the parties to the table. (PR)
