Driver gets bail

The man accused of causing the death of jogger June Knight on October 21 has been granted $10 000 bail with one surety.

Twenty-seven-year-old Daniel Haynes of Jackmans, St Michael, appeared before Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court today.

He is accused of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and attention, driving without reasonable consideration for others using the road and driving without a driver’s licence and insurance policy.

Knight, 56, formerly of Grazettes New Road, St Michael after she was stuck by a car driven by Haynes along the Arch Hall section of the Ronald Mapp Highway.

Haynes will return to Court on May 18, 2018. As part of his bail conditions, his passport was surrendered. (PR/NB)
