FTC set to okay BNTCL sale

After months of deliberation, the sale of the Barbados National Terminal Company Limited (BNTCL) should be officially approved today.

According to sources, the deal with Simpson Oil Limited (Sol) is set to be made public by the Fair Trading Commission (FTC) today.

Despite the FTC reaching an arrangement last Thursday, Minister of Commerce and Industry Donville Inniss told the media yesterday that up to that time he had not been privy to the FTC’s decision.

The minister, under whose portfolio the FTC falls, said he read in the media that the FTC had approved the sale of the BNTCL. (AD)
