The Ministry of Health has moved to out the burning controversy surrounding the Project Recycle Limited quarry in Lower Estate, St George.
Following another fire yesterday at the Anderson Cherry-owned business, the ministry issued a statement late last night. It announced that they had served the business with an abatement notice “instructing Project Recycling Limited at Lower Estate, St Michael, to cease its operations”.
In addition, the ministry has now given the company four weeks to clear the site of all materials.
Earlier yesterday, fire broke out at the controversial business operation, requiring a response from a dozen fire officers who responded to the blaze. It was the second fire at the quarry in nine days.
Efforts to reach Cherry for comment proved unsuccessful up to press time. (RB)
