Acting Governor General Sir Philip Greaves was among guests viewing the work of Virgil and Karl Broodhagen at the Main Guard, Garrison Savannah, last weekend.

The one-week show, which ended Friday, was the 47th in the series of annual Christmas Broodhagen exhibitions, which give patrons a chance to see a wide selection of pieces from the collection of work by Virgil and his late father, Karl, who was best known for his sculptures.

The large gathering included several artists, many of whom, like Karl Broodhagen, taught their craft in Barbados’ schools and tertiary institutions.

Though the work has been shown time and time again, some patrons on Sunday still gasped in awe as they viewed the paintings. (GC)
