Bajan sports have been rocked again by another doping scandal.

Olympic sprinter Levi Cadogan could be sidelined for the upcoming Commonwealth and Central American And Caribbean Games as he faces a possible two-year ban after reportedly testing positive for the banned diuretic and masking agent furosemide.

The 22-year-old pro athlete declined to comment on the matter, but several sources confirmed the news after Cadogan publicly admitted to meeting with the National Anti-Doping Commission (NADC) on Monday night.

He subsequently hinted that he was quitting track and field altogether on social media, posting on Twitter: “Thank you, Barbados, I will miss the sport.”

He had a similar post on Instagram before that picture was subsequently removed from his page. (JM)
